Larry Zarnell Jr. claims to have been living on the streets on and off since the age of 5. At age 60, he finds joy in singing, dancing, and most of all, looking into his wife’s eyes. Being homeless, he said, is “a piece of cake.”

Brittany has been homeless for nearly a year, but has hopes of getting an apartment with her boyfriend in the near future. She has her sights set on becoming an architect and would love to get her degree once she has the means to do so.

John Lilly is one of many homeless Chicagoans struggling to get back on their feet. Since the passing of his father/boss and a devastating divorce that left him with joint-custody of his 7-year-old son, he was left without a job and place to live. Through all of his hardships he remains positive. “My personal goal everyday is to learn something new, secondary is to teach someone something new,” Lilly said.
